The U.S. Agency for International Development funded the ASU Russian and East European Studies Consortium to conduct a training program for government officials from Bosnia-Herzegovina. The goal of the program was to promote social and political stability for Eastern European countries in transition. Mary helped to design and administer a two-week program on the creation and implementation of tax policy and structure. The program brought together Arizona tax professionals from the state, the county, cities, and the private sector to train the visiting tax officials from this war-torn country.
